In order for an L shaped modular kitchen to be incorporated, the kitchen area itself must be built in a corner where two walls form a 90 degree angle to each other. This allows for the countertops to be placed perpendicular to each other so that you get the full advantage of the working triangle. This layout allows easy movement between the sink, the refrigerator and the oven or gas stove and makes meal preps quite efficient.
Since the L shaped kitchen is placed in a corner, it leaves two walls free so that you can have multiple entrances and exits. Traffic through the kitchen becomes much easier in such cases. Since the countertops utilize only two walls, you have access to more open space and can even open the kitchen up to another room such as the living room or the dining room.

We found a great local store in our area that was able to accommodate our needs and for a very reasonable price. We paid about $575 per door. And, we were more than happy to support a small business in our town. We chose tiles that were on a mesh backing, making it easier to install the sheets than single tile, one at a time. Playing up the white and grey colors in the countertops, we chose a Grecian white interlocking tile, again keeping everything neutral but not sterile looking
