Using your chalk lines for reference, line up the first or starter tile. Then lay down just enough adhesive to accommodate four tiles. If you have chosen variegated tiles in contrasting colors, lay them so that the pattern in the lighter tiles are at right angles to the pattern in the darker tiles. This is called quarter-turning.
Vitrified Tiles are composed of quartz, silica, clay and feldspar. These materials are combined together with the process of vitrification. The tiles are manufactured by the Hydraulic press method. In this process two kinds of colour are fed into the machine resulting in a very thick layer of a double coloured design on the tile. This layer of colour and design is around 3-4mm thick. These tiles are good for high traffic areas.
While there are many historic patterns to consider, one of the most classic is a diagonal pattern of contrasting colors. Begin by calculating a center point for the pattern in the room. Usually, this will be where the eye falls as you enter. It is also essential if you are planning a more elaborate design that includes a centerpiece or border.
